Assessing the State of our World 5

In the next section of the Olivet Discourse, Jesus warns His discples about another coming violation of the holy place in the temple called the "abomination which causes desolation". Christ references the prophet Daniel who was given the vision of the temple in Jerusalme being desecrated by a future leader who breaks a covenant with Israel. When those events take place, Jesus warns the people in Judea to flee to the mountains, as the worst events in human histroy are about to unfold. Only because there are still believers "the elect" in the world will they be "cut short" and all human life come to a dreadful end. Again the Lord warns of false messiahs and prophets, but those in the last days will be able to manifest counterfeit miracles to deceive the world.
