The Instructions of Jesus About Baptism

Often titled the 'Great Commission', these final instructions from Jesus to the eleven disciples form the core mission of the Christian Church. Since Christ had been given "all authority in heaven and on earth" by God the Father, he directed the apostles to "make disciples". This includes three imperatives from the Lord, first to "go" share the gospel message, then for those who received the gift of salvation,"baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit". Finally, "teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you" as the next generation of genuine believers.
