Plumbing the Depths of Revelation 38

In chapter 15, John again saw visions of heaven, where "seven angels with the seven last plagues" were introduced. The final series of seven bowl judgements will pour out terrible plagues akin to those in Exodus, when Yahweh-God punished the Egyptians for mistreating Israel. Chapter 16 begins with a "loud voice from temple", instructing the first angel to pour out their bowl of "God's wrath" on the land. Angels two and three pour their bowls upon the sea and fresh water sources, turning them all to blood. The fourth angel pours his bowl upon the sun, which turns the normal heat to "scorch people with fire". Conditions on earth at the end of the Tribulation period will the horrible, and there are yet three bowls to come.
