Following His teaching on prayer, Jesus cast out a demon that made the man mute. When the crowds witnessed him speaking, they were "amazed", but many in a negative way. Some accused Jesus of casting out evil spirits under the power of the devil, while other demanded an additional sign to remove their skepticism. Jesus addresses their words and thoughts with some pointed wisdom about the kingdom of God.
