Luke: A Gentile’s Chronicle of Christ 65

Following the healing of the crippled woman on the Sabbath, Jesus asks two rhetorical questions about the nature of the kingdom of God. He replies to both with a specific word picture or short parable. The first was equating the kingdom to a mustard seed that grows into a tree to offer shelter for the birds. In the second, Jesus compares the kingdom to yeast the infuses the entire batch of dough. Both parables explain that God;s kingdom is designed to start small and experience significant growth.
