Luke 10:21-24; Luke records the joyful response of Jesus to the obedient work of the 72, by affirming the Trinity. He includes the work of the Holy Spirit and prayer of praise to the Father. Jesus then instructs the hearers that only the Father knows the Son and the Son the Father, which reveals the sovereignty of God in choosing those who come to believe in the Son as Savior. The Father hides His wisdom from the earthly wise and learned, but reveals them to “little children” who humbly come to Him.
