Luke 3:1-9; Luke’s narrative returns to John the Baptist as an adult of around 30 years old. He anchors the precise time with Roman and Israelite rulers of the day, then joins John in the wilderness along the Jordan River. John’s bold preaching draws crowds from all over Judea, as he challenges the Jewish people to repent, be baptized as a sign of cleaning and changing the direction of their lives towards the Lord.
