Luke 3:21-38; Luke’s focus shifts from the ministry of John the Baptist to the appearance of Jesus in the wilderness to be baptized. Luke is the only gospel author to denote that Jesus was praying as the Holy Spirit descended from heaven upon Him like a dove. Also from heaven the voice of Yahweh-God affirmed the sonship of Christ as His beloved Son. Luke then follows up with the genealogy of Jesus through the lineage of Joseph through Adam.
