Some have expressed interest in becoming members of CLCC, so a membership class is in the planning stage. If you would like to explore church membership, please contact Pastor Tom.
On July 7, we viewed a video update from missionaries Doug and Sharon Martin during Worship Gathering. Missionary reports most often occur ‘live’, but the extended overview of their ministry and health was valuable to CLCC. We also enjoyed a video rendition of a song written by deceased member Gary Williams.
CLCC had a special baptism service on Sunday June 30 at a local member’s inground pool. It was a very blessed event, as 5 young men publicly committed their lives to Christ by identifying in His death, burial and resurrection in the waters of baptism. Anyone considering baptism are encouraged to reach out to Pastor Tom.
CLCC summer picnic outings begin in June and run through September (weather permitting). The first Thursday evening of the month, we meet at Sheridan Park (64th Ave just north of Cleveland) at 6PM. This is a BYO meal gathering, so pack up some favorites or stop at a local take-out, then meet us for a time of fellowship at the picnic tables under the pavilion. Should there be inclement weather, we will meet at the church instead. The August date is scheduled for the 1st.
Our ongoing study of the final book of Scripture, ‘Plumbing the Depths of Revelation, continues in chapter 16 this week. Previous sermons in this series, as well as several others, can be found in the CLCC Sermon Archives, online (countylinecc.org) and our Youtube channel (County Line Community Church Live Stream), along with the 2023 Advent season messages.
During the month of April into early May, CLCC offered a spring viewing of Season 3 of “The Chosen“. Thanks to all who helped out with popcorn, beverages and tech. When Season 4 is available on DVD, we will be scheduling another round of Sunday evening viewings….hopefully this fall.
Retiring missionary, Marlene Schutter visited CLCC on Sunday May 5th for a recap of her long career in PNG. We had a delicious fellowship lunch with the theme of Cinco DeMayo…..a taco bar. Thanks to Jessie Andrews for organizing the event and all those who prepared wonderful dishes to share.
Missionaries to Japan, Chris and Donna Sadowitz, visited on April 7 and shared an update on their long ministry in Japan.
Visitors are always very welcome to worship with us at County Line. Our congregation is friendly and welcoming, with a mix of worship music from contemporary to familiar hymns. If you are looking for a place to worship, serve the Lord and grow in your walk, CLCC is a body of Christ with deep roots in God’s Word.
Upcoming fellowship opportunities for August: We gather at least twice each month for fellowship outside of scheduled church services simply to “do life” together. The 1st Thurday of each month we meet for a meal…(June-Sept we meet at Sheridan Park at 6pm for a BYO picnic dinner) On the 3rd Thursday of each month….August 15, we meet at Delly Belly in Coopersville at 2:30pm for coffee and a donut or cookie. All are welcome to join us for a time of sharing life together.
2023 archived sermon series: Winter/spring 2023 we engaged a NewTestament sermon series from the Beatitudes, entitles “Walking with Jesus through Difficulty and Loss“. After Easter, we continued in Matthew with an overview of Christ’s most famous sermon, “Mining Gold from the Sermon on the Mount” Over the summer, we began to prepare for an extended series on New Testament prophesy by examining the Olivet Discourse of Jesus from Matthew 24, entitled, “Assessing the State of our World“. In the falltime, we began a deep engagement with the book of Revelation, entitled “Plumbing the Depths of Revelation“. Each are available on our YouTube channel and website sermon archives.
As a lasting response to the covid situation, offerings plates continue to be available along the center aisle at the rear of our sanctuary for easy access. Communion will likewise remain “self-serve” in the foyer when entering church as we continue forward. A brief ‘meet and greet‘ time has resumed during worship time, along with coffee and snacks in the foyer, for increased social interaction among our congregation.
A weekly fitness class directed by Deb Spinner meets each Tuesday evening at 5:45pm in CLCC’s gym. If you are looking for a local indoor exercise program, feel free to stop by and investigate.
The CLCC phone system was replaced late in 2020 with voIP, so we now have an assigned phone number (616-384-5781) as well as our longtime phone number (616-837-9781) in operation. Most of the time there is no one in the church office, so please leave a voicemail message or utilize the “contact us” tab on the website toolbar. Someone will be back in touch as soon as possible.
Please note the addition of a “Prayer Requests” tab to our homepage toolbar menu. If you have a prayer request, please open the tab and share your concerns. We will be discrete and faithful in upholding your needs before the Lord who hears and answers our humble petitions. Also, a prayer box with request cards is located outside the church entry for anyone that would like to share a request in that manner.
