God's Plan of Redemption for singul humanity was woven through the Old Testament as well as being fulfilled in the Incarnation of Christ in the New Testament. The Lord foretold through Isaiah that the apparently dead stump of Judah by way of Jesse would raise up a shoot that would become the "Branch". Most of what was foretold would be fulfilled much later in the 2nd Advent of Messiah, yet would begin "at just the right time" with the arrival of Jesus.
