Luke: A Gentile’s Chronicle of Christ 15

Following the two healings, Luke next recounts Jesus' calling of a tax collector. Jesus is focused on Levi in his tax booth and simply says, "Follow me". Levi responds immediately be leaving his profession and hosting a banquet as Jesus as the honored guest. But the majority of the attenders are friends of Levi which offend the Pharisees as they consider them "sinners". Jesus responds by noting that the sick need a physician, not the healthy, same as He came to call sinners to repentance. Next the Pharisees confront the disciples of Christ with an issue about fasting. Once again Jesus answers them wisely with a parable.
