Luke: A Gentile’s Chronicle of Christ 22

Having completed the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus returned to the village of Capernaum where he resided in Galilee. A group of Jewish elders approached him to request His healing of a Roman centurion's servant who was gravely ill. The centurion had come to love the nation of Israel and helped them build their synagogue, so they pleaded his case before the Lord. Jesus agreed and was headed to the home of the centurion, when a second group of friends approached with a request to simply speak the words of healing, as the centurion acknowledged His authority. Jesus marveled at the centurions faith and healed the servant from a distance.
