The Facade and Reality of Palm Sunday (2024)

Christ's welcome to Jerusalem in the famous Triumphal Entry, but was really a facade, an illusion that the hearts of the crowd were really with Him. Mark instead records that Jesus wept as he neared the place where He knew he would soon be put to death. Following the Last Supper, Jesus took the eleven remaining disciples to Gethsemane to pray, but the outcome was quite different than any of those men had anticipated.
