Plumbing the Depths of Revelation 35

After seeing the 144,000 in heaven with "the lamb" and hearing a "new song" being sung by the victorious witnesses, John then sees the first of three angels. His message was the "eternal gospel", focusing upon the theme of repentance and proper worship of Yahweh-God. The second angel then announces tha fall of Babylon, a name used throughout Scripture to designate conquering pagan nations like Rome that force their subjects into phsical and spiritual "adultery". The message of the third angel is chilling, as the fate of those who refuse to repent and instead worship the beast is detailed. Anyone who takes the mark of the beast or worships his image will ultimately experience the cup of God's wrath.
