Jesus illustrates the faithfulness of God in seeking the lost with the first of three word picutures. In the 'Parable of the Lost Sheep', Jesus relates how a shepherd with 100 sheep will leave the 99 when he finds one missing. Searching until the lost one is found, the shephered carries the sheep home on his shoulders and calls his friends for a celebration.
