Luke 4:31-44; Leaving hostile Nazareth, Jesus headed NW to Capernaum on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. He taught along the way and went to Capernaum on the Sabbath to teach. There he encountered a demon possessed man whom Jesus commanded to depart and left the man unharmed. Afterwards, he went to the home of Simon where he healed his very ill mother-in-law, demonstrating the God-man’s total control over the spiritual and physical nature of sin.
