Luke 5:1-11; Jesus was teaching on the shore of the Lake of Gennesaret near Carpenaum, as the large crowd began to push Him in the water. He got into a nearby fishing boat belonging to Simon and asked him to put out as short distance to teach the listeners. When Christ was finished, he instructed Simon to put out into deeper water and put down the nets for a catch. The prior evening, Simon and his partners had caught nothing, but obeying the Lord brought the largest catch of their lives. These events brough about a confession from a humbled Simon Peter and the call of Jesus’ first four disciples, including Andrew, James and John.
