Luke 8:16-21; Following the ‘parable of the soils’, Jesus continued to teach His disciples with a lesson about light. He noted that a lamp wwas not hidden, but placed on a stand so that those inside could see. Then issued a warning that nothing would remain hidden and all would be revealed by the light. Thus it is very important how individuals hear and respond to the gospel message. This teaching was followed by an impromptu visit by Jesus’ mother and brothers. The Lord again gave a profound lessong, saying that His mother and brothers were those who heard the word and put it into practice.
