Luke 8:26-39l Following the encounter with the severe squall and subsequent calming of the storm by Jesus, they continued across the lake to an area called the Gerasenes in Gentile country. As Jesus stepped on the shore, a demon possessed man ran up and began shoulting. Jesus commanded the demon to leave and it was revealed that there were many unholy spirits in the fellow. The demons asked to enter a nearby herd of pigs rather than being sent to the Abyss. Their actions prompted the pigs to run off a cliff and drown in the late, which caused quite a stir with the locals.
