Revelation 4:1-11; As John completes the dicated letters from the Glorified Christ Jesus to the seven churches in Asia, he looks upward to see an open door into heaven. The Lord calls him to the throne room of Yahweh-God, where he will see “what must take place after this“. Before any more visions are revealed, John sees God’s brilliant holiness and grandure on the throne, along with twenty four other thrones which have “elders” seated upon them. Inside the ring of elders, there are four very unique “creatures” which are called cherubim or seraphim in the old testament. The entire scene is centered upon worshipping the One upon the throne.
