Revelation 6:1-8; with the recent heavenly ‘interlude’ of chapters 4-5 completed, the Lamb begins to break the seven seals of the scroll taken from the Father’s hand. As each of the first four seals are broken, one of the four living creatures issues a command of, “Come!” First a white horse and rider appear, followed by a red horse, a black horse and finally a pale green horse. Each of these riders is given divine permission to bring increasing turmoil and pain upon sinful humanity.
