Revelation 3:7-13; Christ’s message to the church in Philadelphia was similar to the church in Smyrna as there was no glaring area of sin or spiritual compromise. Jesus commends Philadelphia for keeping His word and remaining faithful to His name, despite the reality they had “little strength”. Once again, a hostile Jewish presense was called “the synagogue of Satan”, who would eventually be compelled to “fall down at your feet”, in recogniztion that Gentiles believers were loved by God. The final time of eschatological testing would either see the church be kept from or throught such difficult times, with the faithful being made pillars in God’s temple.
