Matthew 5:1-8; The second horizontal Beatitude is a challenge from Jesus to His followers to be “pure in heart”. David engaged purity several times in the Psalms, comparing it to the high value of pure gold before the Lord. The subsequent promise for those who seek to purify their lives from the inside was, “for they will see God”.
A thought..
Clarity and purity go hand in hand. Like cataracts that clouds the vision and robs the person of colors, and reading, and diminishes quality of life… it is slow growing and some adapt to that world unto blindness; kind of like sin not dealt with… The surgeon removes the old damaged lenses and replaces them with new clear, pure lenses. The person is restored; can see clearly. Our surgeon is Jesus, our eyes are our spirit and walk with him. Remove the obstacles and see Him and His glory … God is so good.
